Effects of smoke and heat-shock on germination in eight perennial Reseda species (Resedaceae)

چکیده

Reseda is an understudied genus regarding germination ecology. We studied the response of eight perennial species to fire related cues by performing a experiment including two aqueous smoke treatments (at 1:5 and 1:20 concentrations), one heat shock (100 °C for 5 min.) treatment, corresponding controls. Smoke slightly decreased percentage in R. aucheri ssp. rotundifolia minoica, reduction luteola was statistically significant (P < 0.01). In contrary, promoted coodei, globulosa, orientalis slightly, markedly anatolica (from 3 11%; P = 0.055). Heat treatment did not affect three four tested, but significantly increased comparison control 0.046). Consequently, there no consistent or studied. This study most comprehensive tested fire-related several provides first results on seven species. Further studies that include more would show completed figure patterns Reseda.

Nitrogen Fertilizer and Crop Residue Effects on Seed Mortality and Germination of Eight Annual Weed Species

Weed seed persistence in the soil seedbank is central to weed population dynamics; however, limited knowledge of mechanisms regulating seed survival in soil remains an obstacle to developing seed-bank management practices. Weed seeds are rich in carbon and nitrogen, and therefore may represent an important nutritional resource to soil microbes. The objective of this study was to test the hypoth...

Wood Anatomy of Resedaceae

Quantitative and qualitative data are presented for seven species of four genera of Resedaceae. Newly reported for the family are helical striations in vessels, vasicentric and marginal axial parenchyma, procumbent ray cells, and perforated ray cells. Wood features of Resedaceae may be found in one or more of the families of Capparales close to it (Brassicaceae, Capparaceae, Tovariaceae). Lack ...
